Jim Rivett
Arketype President, Creative Director, Principal

“The line between fine art and design is blurring. Design has come to equal consumerism. It differentiates products and has tremendous social and economic power.” - Jim Rivett

Since 1997, Rivett has served as Arketype’s creative director. In August 2007, he also became the firm’s president. A respected industry veteran, his career in the graphic design and advertising industry spans 28 years and numerous awards.

A native of Green Bay, Rivett is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Drawing. He pursued post-graduate study at the New York School of Visual Arts and at the American Paper Institute of New York, which fueled his interest in graphic design.

Under Rivett’s direction, Arketype has grown both in its capabilities and in its wide diversity of ideas and talents. As a result, the creative team has been regularly recognized for its award-winning communications work. In recent years, the firm has received the attention of leading design industry publications, including GD:USA, HOW Magazine, Communication Arts, and Print.

Rivett is an active community supporter and a member of the executive board of directors for downtown Green Bay’s performing arts venue The Meyer Theatre. He also leads the theatre’s marketing committee. Peers throughout the industry, including the American Advertising Federation, have consistently recognized Rivett’s creativity, vision, originality, and leadership. In January 2005, he was selected by GD:USA magazine as one of the country’s 50 “People to Watch” in the entire design industry.
