Arketype Awarded Sappi Grant for "Respectacles" Project

GREEN BAY, WI, July 22, 2008 — Arketype, Inc., has been awarded an almost $6,000 grant from the international Sappi “Ideas That Matter” program. The advertising and design firm in Green Bay received the distinguished grant for its “Respectacles” campaign, which promotes messages of diversity and respect to elementary schools during the annual Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday.

Since 2006, Arketype has designed, printed, and distributed distinctive posters to all Green Bay classrooms promoting Dr. King’s messages. The firm’s employees have also taken the day off to volunteer in the community and present educational programs to area schoolchildren.

The Sappi grant will allow the firm to expand its annual project from Green Bay Area Public Schools to all public elementary schools throughout Brown County, potentially reaching 39,000 students with its positive messages. It will also make it possible for the group to create additional support materials for the event.

“Grants from Sappi are sought out by organizations from all over the world, so we’re thrilled to have been selected among the prestigious few,” said Arketype President Jim Rivett.

“Ideas That Matter” is an initiative launched worldwide by Sappi in 1999 to provide substantial grants that enable the implementation of creative ideas designed to support social and environmental causes. Sappi is a global paper and pulp group and the world’s leading producer of coated fine paper and chemical cellulose. In addition, the company produces newsprint, uncoated graphic and business paper, packaging papers, specialty papers, and paper grade pulp.
